BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

At Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris Limited, we strive to deliver memorable and affordable African safari holidays in East Africa for travel enthusiasts from all over the world. Travellers must however understand that they are visiting developing countries and must be prepared to deal with unusual occurrences, local inadequacies, and unpredictable events. If you are flexible, curious about new people, places and environments, and have a positive attitude, we welcome your participation.
Africa adventure travel is rewarding if you can embrace the inherent challenges. 

At Twinkle Star, our ultimate goal is to ensure that you get the most out of your travel experience with us!

Your twinkle star tours & safaris booking is governed by certain terms & conditions as detailed below:

 

SAFARI PRICES AND PAYMENTS:

  1. All prices quoted are subject to change without prior notice. Hotels and other suppliers reserve the right to amend the price, a service/package, if affected by circumstances beyond their control. The prices could also change in the event there is a major fluctuation in rates of exchange or airfares or both. Any increase in price would have to be paid before departure. However, such increase will not normally apply after a booking is confirmed and payment is received.
  2. A non-refundable deposit will be collected to process your inquiry. This amount will depend on the total value of your package, date of travel and type of holiday. This deposit will be adjusted towards the cost of your holiday booking.
  3. Every effort will be made to confirm a booking exactly as requested. However, in case of non-availability, similar alternatives will be offered.
  4. Full payment is to be made three weeks before departure to enable us reconfirm all arrangements with our suppliers. Certain services like Cruises, Apartment stays, Coach Tours, Unique Specialty Packages e.t.c, may call for a different payment schedule and will possibly necessitate earlier full pre-payment.

 

TRIP CANCELLATION: 

If you or anyone on your holiday booking has to cancel the holiday, we must be notified of the decision in writing. The cancellation will take effect from the day the written confirmation is received. Subsequent alterations, amendments or cancellations to a confirmed booking may attract penalties. Please note that some properties my charge higher cancellation fees particularly during peak season where cancellation fees can be up to 100%. 

The following standard cancellation policy will apply (subject to change without notice):

  • Cancellation up to 60 days prior to commencement of the safari: Zero  cancellation charges.
  • Cancellation up to 35 days prior to commencement of the safari: 20% cancellation charges
  • Cancellation  up to 15 days prior to commencement of the safari: 40% cancellation charges
  • Cancellation less than 15 days or more than 3 days prior to safari start: 60% cancellation charges
  • Cancellation 3 days or less before commencement of  safari: Zero refund, 100% cancellation charges apply.
  • Refunds due to you in the event of safari cancellation can only be credited to the original credit / debit card used in making of initial payment, if within 6-months of refund payment.
  • In the event of a cancellation, please be advised that a 5% administrative fee will be levied to account for transaction charges.

Service and handling fees may be applied on an individual case basis, even if a booking is cancelled within the acceptable period and no cancellation charges are entailed.

Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris reserves the right to cancel or change any holiday or service without notice at any time. We will offer alternative arrangements, if deemed necessary or advisable. If alternative arrangements are not available or are unacceptable to you, we will refund the part of any money, which relates to the part of service that has been cancelled. In either case Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris shall not be held liable for any damage, additional expense or consequential loss suffered.

Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris shall in no circumstances be liable for: 

  1. Death, personal injury, sickness, accident, loss, delay, increased expense, consequential loss or any misadventure whatsoever caused.
  2. Any act, omission, default of any hotelier, carrier or other person or by any servant or agent      employed by them who may be engaged or concerned in the provision of accommodation, food and beverage, carriage, facility, or service for you or for any person travelling with you howsoever caused.
  3. The temporary or permanent loss of or damage to baggage or personal effects howsoever caused.

 

FORCE MAJEURE:

Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris acts on behalf of Hotels, Suppliers, Operators, and Handling Agents and hence has limited liabilities only, in terms of the arrangements directly under its control. In the event of disputes over all other circumstances, we will offer all reasonable assistance but will not be responsible for claims and compensations. 

All complains should be submitted within 10 days of your return.

Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris shall not be responsible or deemed to be in default on account of any delays or interruptions in the performance of its obligations due to causes beyond its reasonable control or not occasioned by its fault or negligence including acts of God or the Public enemy, war, civil war, warlike operations, terrorism, insurrections or riots, fires, floods (usually severe weather conditions), epidemics, or quarantine, restrictions, any act of government, strikes, or labour unrest causing cessation, slow down or interruption of work (collectively ‘’the Force Majeure events’’). 

Although we will extend all assistance wherever possible, the obtaining of visas, health requirements and vaccinations e.t.c will be the sole responsibility of the passenger. 

It is the responsibility of the passenger to be in possession of a valid passport, ensure the visas can be obtained before entering into a booking commitment with Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris. Multiple entry visas are recommended.

Refunds if any are subject to Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris obtaining a refund from the hotels and suppliers. An administrative fee could apply as part of the refund process. Partially utilized services are non-refundable.

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR YOUR AFRICAN SAFARI:
Twinkle Star Tours & Safaris strongly recommend that you take a comprehensive Travel Insurance to cover cancellation of
holiday, medical expenses, personal accident, personal baggage, money and public liability – before the
commencement of your holiday. This Insurance cover should be purchased as soon as you make the
first deposit payment for your holiday so as to guard you against loss of deposit or cancellation fees
that will be chargeable and in force once your holiday booking has been confirmed by us. The
Insurance cover should also indemnify us against all third-party actions, damages or remedies that
may be brought against us in respect of your holiday as arranged by us.

 

COMPLAINTS:
If you have cause for complaint whilst on holiday, you must bring it to our attention or that of our
local representative who will do their best to rectify the situation. It is unreasonable to take no action
whilst on holiday, but then write a letter of complaint upon your return home. Should a problem
remain unresolved, you should make a complaint in writing to us within two weeks of the completion of
your holiday.

 

CONCLUSION:

These terms and conditions and any agreement referring to these terms and conditions shall be construed, interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the Government of Kenya.

All persons travelling together will be deemed to have understood and compliant with all these booking conditions.
