Sweetwater’s Sanctuary located inside Ol pejeta Conservancy was constructed after an agreement between Ol pejeta Conservancy, Kenya Wildlife Service and Jane Goodall Institute to provide and take care of orphaned and abused chimpanzees from the west and central Africa. The sanctuary has 36 chimpanzees with 24hrs veterinary support and stimulating quarantine enclosure. New arrivals are introduced into large groups in the sanctuary who live in the vast Natural enclosure. Chimpanzees spend most of their days exploring, climbing, and socializing with one another.
