Maasai Village Tours with Twinkle Star Tours

Maasai tribe always happy and welcoming

While enjoying your safari at Masai Mara, travel and visit Maasai village at a small extra cost.

A visit to Maasai Village will give you a chance to witness the unspoiled long tradition and culture of the Masai people.

They live in small houses called “Manyattas” which are normally built by women, only relying on the men to supply them with the necessary materials.

They begin with a rugged framework of timber poles interwoven with smaller branches to form the structure, which they then cover with a mixture of mud, grass, cow dung, and ash.

This fascinating tribe resides in the areas surrounding the Maasai Mara in Kenya and northern Tanzania.

The Maasai used to move nomadically with their herds to abundant lush pastures but these days they have built permanent huts and prefer to stay in one place.

They are pastoralists and cattle is essential to their way of life. A man’s success is measured by the number of cattle and offspring he has.

As great status and show of wealth the cattle are, they are also a vital food source. This glimpse of authentic Maasai culture is a fascinating experience of an ancient way of life that still flourishes today.
