Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve

The Mara reserve is 1510 km² of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next meal. The ultimate action here is, without doubt, the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. A full-day game drives with picnic lunch until sunset. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge/camp.

Our Corporate agency guide on the side of Tanzania will be ready to pick you so as to proceed with your safari to Serengeti National Park with a 4x4 Land cruiser. The park is home to the big seven including; lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, rhino, and African hunting dog. The Serengeti stretches 14,763 (5,700 sq miles) stretching North to Kenya and bordering Lake Victoria to the West. Serengeti has the highest concentration of large mammals on this planet and it's famously known for its 2,500 Lions the largest concentration found anywhere. But the crater is also home to the “big five” and elephants, lions, and buffaloes are often spotted. The almost extinct black rhino can also be found in the crate and sightings aren’t rare either. Serval cats spotted hyenas, and jackals are also often seen while cheetahs are more difficult to spot. Later in the evening, return to your lodge/camp for dinner and Overnight.

The park is home to one of the largest elephant populations in the north of Tanzania but is also home to many other wild animals. With some luck, you can spot lions, cheetahs, or leopards. The landscape of the park is very diverse. Especially the huge baobab trees, which are located close together in the north-eastern sector of the park, are particularly impressive.
