14 Days Kenya Private Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Nairobi

This day, upon landing at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our Airport Representative will be on standby waiting for you. Upon pick up, you will head to your Nairobi hotel already booked with a view of the beautiful city of Nairobi.

Day 2: Full Day Nairobi Excursion

7:30am-10:30am: Karen Blixen

We'll start our tour visiting this expansive farmhouse and grounds where Karen Blixen established a coffee plantation and spent time with her lover. We'll visit the rooms where she lived and worked. We'll also learn more about Kenya's colonial history.

11:00am-12:00 am: Baby Elephant

Our next stop is truly the most unique animal care center in the world. Where else can you see dozens of baby elephants being fed from giant milk bottles right before you? And then after the feeding, watch the elephant babies roll about in the mud, playing, frolicking like young children everywhere. But now it's your feeding time and we'll have lunch at the beautiful Carnivore restaurant before proceeding to Giraffe Center.

2:00pm-3:00pm: Giraffe Center

Here at the Giraffe Centre, you can climb up the feeding tower and hand-feed a food pellet to an inquisitive giraffe. Some lucky visitors have been known to get a giraffe kiss! Later evening, head to your hotel.

Day 3: Pick up Nairobi Hotel / Transfer Samburu National Reserve

Pick up at 0730hrs from the hotel and drive to Samburu National Reserve. Drive north of the Equator to Samburu National Reserve, on the edge of Kenya’s semi-desert lands where you may encounter some of the animals and vegetation that are typical of this region such as the Grevy’s Zebra, the Reticulated Giraffe, and the Somali Ostrich. arrive in time for lunch at your lodge/camp and afternoon game drive. The best feature of Samburu is not the wildlife of the picturesque surroundings, but the fact that it is one of the lesser-visited regions in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, today is a full day game drive you will leave with your packed Lunch to explore Samburu National Reserve. The name Samburu is of Maasai origin, a ‘samburr’ is a traditional leather bag the Masai use for carrying honey and milk. This region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year), and its red volcanic soil. Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the river that gives life to the reserve. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, who are ‘cousins’ to the Maasai people with their own distinct cultural traditions. Experience the sightings of Unique species of Samburu; Grevy Zebras, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated giraffe, and Generuk. Dinner and Overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 5: Leave Samburu National Reserve / Transfer olpejeta Conservancy

Have your breakfast followed by a depart to Ol pejeta. You will arrive for lunch and relaxation and later proceed with the afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 364sq km wildlife conservancy situated between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares and its game-to-area ratio tops the Kenyan park and reserve league. Ol Pejeta has over 10000 large mammals and it is the only park where the big 5 and chimpanzees can be seen. It is also where the fastest-growing population of rhino in Africa can be found. There are southern white rhino, about 80 endangered black rhino and in a special sanctuary, there are three of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino.

Day 6: Leave Olpejeta Conservancy / Transfer Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you descend into the Rift Valley via Thomson's Falls to Lake Nakuru National Park for lunch. Here, due to an abundance of algae in the lake, flamingos famously line the shores sometimes (in season) all that can be seen is an incredible moving mass of pink! Enjoy an afternoon game drive hopefully spotting beautiful flamingos on the lake and the resident rhino. Thereafter you will be checked at lodge/camp where you will spend the night.

Day 7: Leave Lake Nakuru National Park / Transfer Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru National Park with a game drive en-route to lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp. Afternoon you can have an optional boat-ride or visit the crescent island at an extra cost. Enjoy the hotel amenities within the lodge. Dinner and Overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 8: Leave Lake Naivasha / Transfer Masai Mara National Reserve

Have an early breakfast then depart for Masai Mara to arrive for lunch at the Lodge. Have lunch then relax. Afternoon game drives at 1530hrs until 1830 hrs in search of Big five and luckily you might see leopards hunting that afternoon because they are very active during that time.

Day 9: Masai Mara National Reserve

Spent full day game viewing across the rich, tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is renowned for its great herds of plain game, black manned lions, leopard, and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya, lunch is served in the park at the Mara River, the border of Kenya and Tanzania and the scene for yearly wildebeest migration after lunch continues with your game drive covering the park into sections.

Day 10: Leave Masai Mara National Reserve / Transfer Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, you will check-out of your lodge/camp and depart to Amboseli National Park. With a stopover for lunch at Nairobi, thereafter proceed to Amboseli to arrive late evening with game drive en-route to your lodge/camp. Dinner and Overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 11: Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, proceed with more game drive in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, a hippo with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Leave Amboseli National Park / Transfer Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart Amboseli and head to Tsavo West National Park. You will check-in at your lodge/camp for lunch and refresh before departing in the afternoon to visit a rhino sanctuary. Upon returning to the lodge for the evening, if luck is on your side you may spot a leopard! Dinner and overnight at the lodge/camp.

Day 13: Leave Tsavo West National Park / Transfer Tsavo East National Park

Early morning game drive after breakfast by visiting Mzima Spring, undoubtedly the greatest attraction in Tsavo West National park with crystal clear water that emerges underneath. The spring has a viewing chamber where you can view hippos and crocodiles. Thereafter, head to Tsavo east, neighboring each other. The game drive will begin as soon as we enter the park. You will arrive in time for check-in at your lodge/camp in time for Lunch. In the afternoon after lunch, you will embark on a game drive and a visit to Aruba Dam.

Day 14: Leave Tsavo West National Park / Transfer and drop off Mombasa / Nairobi

After breakfast, check out of the lodge with the game en route to Nairobi/Mombasa with a lunch stopover on the way.  Drop off at your Hotel/Airport.
